Summary:
Aya and her twin brother Aki are members of the powerful and wealthy Mikage family. On their 16th birthday, they are called to attend a test in their family home, which Aya failed. She's proven to be the reincarnation of the tennyo (celestial maid) named Ceres. According to belief, Ceres is planning to bring destructions upon the Mikage family so she must die. Aya quickly finds out that she's being hunted by her own family. She is saved by Suzumi Aogiri, another tennyo descendant, and her brother-in-law Yuuhi. She also meets a mysterious guy by the name of Touya, who repeatedly rescues her and to whom she soon falls in love with.
While Aya is the reincarnation of Ceres, her brother Aki is the reincarnation of the Progenitor, the ancestor of the Mikage family. It was said that the Progenitor has stolen Ceres' hagoromo (celestial robe) that will help her open heaven's gate and forced her to stay with him. Ceres is determined to find her hagoromo through Aya. Meanwhile, the Progenitor is also on a quest to win Ceres back.
